Backlinks are something we all need. They go a long way towards improve both traffic and rankings with respect to our webites and blogs. With that in mind, it seemed useful to point out some places where you can get free backlinks:
OnlyWire.com
Technically not a free backlinks site per se, but is worth its weight in gold in terms of the amount of time it can save you. Rather than posting individually to a bunch of social bookmarking sites (which takes gobs of time), you can automatically posts to about 50 of the top social media sites! You get a free trial subscription of 300 submissions. However, the trial is limited by time; it doesn't end until all 300 submissions are used. Following the final submission, you can decide whether you like the covenience of automatic submission well enough to get a paid subscription.
SocialAdr.com
This backlinking site is totally free. Simply put, after posting links for others in your social media accounts, they perform the same service for you. (Posting is automated, so you can get it done in just a few minutes.) Also, there is an option for a paid subscription that provides a lot more backlinks and doesn't require you to post any backlinks for anyone else..
Backlinks Genie.com
This automatic backlinks-builder is focused on multi-tiered backlinking. A free one-month trial is available to examine the service offered..
SocialMonkee.com
Another backlinking service that is comletely and utterly free. You get 25 free backlinks daily for any submitted URL. However, with a free subscription to SocialMonkee you only get to submit a specific URL once. (Getting a paid subscription means you can submit to many more sites, and also submit the same URL more than once.)
24:7 Backlinks.com
Everyone should love this one: 24:7 backlinks gives you 1000 free backlinks. Not a bad deal, if you ask me.

Resources That are Helping to Build My Passive and Residual Income
In thinking about my efforts to start earning online, it ocurred to me that it might be beneficial to post a bit more detail about what I'm doing - and what I consider to be the best resources - to generate passive and residual income:
WebAnswers
Simply put, WebAnswers is a site where you earn income by asking and answering questions. I give WebAnswers high marks not just because it's where my first residual income was earned, but mostly because of how fast it happened. I joined and was somewhat disinterested in the site initially, but despite my own disinterest I was making money within a week! Since then, I have made money with them practically every day! (I think there have only been two days when I didn't make anything, and I believe they were both on the weekend, when there's less traffic.) That's why I think WebAnswers should be everyone's first port of call in the world of residual and passive income.
InfoBarrel
InfoBarrel is a site that has 75% revenue-sharing (and this can go higher under certain circumstances) forwriting articles. I like the fact that you can earn income from several sources - e.g., AdSense, Amazon and Chitika - and you can write about any subject that interest you. Plus, there's no limit to the number of articles you can submit in a day (or ever). After WebAnswers, I think article-writing should be the next step for almost everybody looking to earn residual income online.
Bluehost.com
Bluehost is a top-ranked web-hosting company. I use them for my own web sites, and I highly recommend them. For $6.96 per month you get unlimited domains and unlimited space (which is great for someone like me, since I've got several ideas for niche sites that I want to take a swing at). Of course you may be thinking, "Why pay for hosting when there are scores of places that will let me build web sites for free?" That is certainly true, but of course a free website might come with restrictions and other unfavorable terms and conditions. For instance, some free sites won't allow you to display ads. Good luck monetizing that one... The long and short of it is that web hosting is actually pretty cheap, and for the freedom it gives you in terms of developing your niche (and monetizing it) it may be well worth the price. Plus, as the old saying goes, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Hubpages.com
Hubpages allows you to build web pages called "hubs". You are able to monetize your hubs (60% revenue-sharing) in several ways, including Amazon affiliate links and AdSense. Since it's free to sign up, you've got nothing to lose and can build as many hubs as you like.
Squidoo
This is essentially just like Hubpages, except the web pages you create are referred to as "lenses". There's 50% revenue-sharing in various ways (including AdSense and Amazon affiliate links).
Seekyt.com
Like InfoBarrel, this is an article site with 70% revenue sharing.
Shetoldme.com
This is a social bookmarking site with 100% revenue-sharing. (Tough to beat that!)
Bukisa.com
This is another great article site with 60% revenue-sharing.
Infopirate.org
This social bookmarking site has 80% revenue-sharing.
Socialadr
Simply put, this is a fantastic site site for obtaining lots of free backlinks. (There's a paid option as well - to get even more backlinks - but it's not required.)

Start Earning Passive Income with These Revenue-Sharing Sites
Most people are mesmerized by the thought of earning passive income. Simply being able to wake up at your leisure and know that you're earning money while drinking your morning coffe - or sipping mai-tais at the beach - would be a dream come true for the average person. So how to you get reality to match the dream?
Fortunately, there are a lot of resources online to help you get started - not only with respect to finding out what you might like to do but also helping you do it. For my money, I think Q&A site WebAnswers is your best bet in terms of getting started quickly. However article submission sites like InfoBarrel are also great starting points, and so are many of the social bookmarking sites. With that in mind, here are the sites I think will play a major role in the development of my own passive income streams, and hopefully that of anyone else just starting out:
- WebAnswers - earn for both asking and answering questions
- InfoBarrel - 75% revenue-sharing article site
- Hubpages.com - 60% revenue-sharing
- Seekyt.com - 70% revenue-sharing article site
- Shetoldme.com - 100% revenue-sharing
- Bukisa.com - 60% revenue-sharing article site
- Infopirate.org - 80% revenue-sharing bookmarking site
Aside from WebAnswers, these are all either article submission or social bookmarking sites. Moreover, they're giving 60-100% of the revenue to the writers. This strikes me as a pretty good way to start earning money online.

Getting Your Passive Income Stream Started
If you're anything like me, at this juncture you aren't going to want to waste time with any of the subtleties and will just want to get down to business. I know just how you feel (I was eager to start earning, too), so let's get started.
The first thing you have to do to start earning online is set up a Google Adsense account. Most of the revenue-sharing sites earn through Adsense, and even if you end up with your own site it's a sure bet that you'll be trying to earn via Adsense as well. It's quick, painless and free, and since you'll probably need it anyway you should try to get it out of the way asap.
Next, you have to decide the manner in which you want to start earning. Assuming you don't have anything particular in mind, I'd suggest WebAnswers. A lot of people will suggest article-writing as the best way to start earning, and for long-term residual income maybe it is. (Moreover, article writing should definitely be one of your income streams, but I'll talk about that more in a different post.) However, in terms of getting started and earning quickly, my money's on WebAnswers.
WebAnswers is a question-and-answer site, that lets you can earn money for both asking and answering questions. (The site implies that being paid for asking questions is a limited opportunity, but I haven't heard anything about it going away yet.) You have to sign up (it's free) and answer 50 questions first (not all at once), but after that you'll be invited to join Adsense and/or enter your Adsense ID. From that point forward, you can start making money. Personally, I was lax with respect to answering the 50 questions, and I still started making money within about a week. I now earn money on WebAnswers practically every day.
In short, it's my suggestion that you get started by 1) setting up an Adsense account and 2) signing up with Webanswers to start earning asap.
